Abrage - Fish Restaurant at old Jaffa
Abrage Restaurant is located in a magical place - at the picturesque ancient 6th square right next to St. Peter's church.
Abrage Restaurant is at a historical beautiful building - 100 years old.
Abrage is glorified with an Ottoman aroma that comes deep from within the exposed stone walls and Turquoise arches that characterize this venue.
Anchored in the heart of the ancient square in old Jaffa along with the cool sea breeze, Abrage is the perfect romantic place for a lovely lunch or dinner.
Abrage specialize with fish and sea fruit dishes. you can also find here some great meat dishes, as we did.
We came to enjoy this beautiful restaurant and it's delicious food.
We started with white wine and some small dishes:
Portobello - A Meaty mushroom stuffed with goat’s cheese, served with black lentil salad.
Jaffa Sashimi - Fresh pickled Norwegian salmon fillet in Mediterranean sauce,
premiumextra-virgin olive oil, lemon.
Classic Shrimp - Shrimp seared in butter, garlic confit and extra virgin olive oil.
The three of them were very tasty and generous.
For main dishes we choose:
Whole baked Fish - Varies according to the daily fish baked in Chef’s spice mix. We took "Lavrak" fish, which is my favourite, and it was made perfectly!
Lamb chops - Seasoned and grilled. delicious juicy chops that made us very satisfied.
This is the view from the restaurant:
For desert we choose:
Pavlova - Sweet and crunchy meringue, with whipped cream and a drizzle of berry sauce.
and Creme Catalana - A rich french vanilla and cream custard, topped with crunchy caramel and berry sauce.
What a perfect ending for a wonderful meal!
There's a saying in Hebrew: "Jaffa is the best at nights", and it's true, as you can see:
As we stepted out from the restaurant, we found out that a live Jazz show is about to begin (right next to Abrage), so we stayed and enjoyed it.
Here's a short live video i took:
